River Hill Arts is a platform that provides a creative space to build community, connections and energy. In this space we use art as a way to explore how the personal, social and political efffect our lives. With RIver Hill Arts I am seeking like minded artists and creators who are interested in using their art as a tool for positive social and political change.
As an artist I am energized by the breadth of mediums and techniques that I have had the privelage to explore. Pen and ink, acrylic, oils, spray paint and printmaking are tools that I use to tel my story.
My figurative work often explores themes of isolation: objects sharing a space but not interacting or interior landscapes that have been forgotten in time. My abstract work explores the energy of a line in space and how these lines create areas of isolation or frentic energy.
While I have been painintg and making since I was a teenager, it’s in this phase of my life that I have found my voice, connected with my passion and have learned to be authentic with my art. This maturity has created new opportunities for experimenation, exploring new materials and enjoying a new way of approaching my work.
In 2020 I’m embarking on a journey into a more focused printmaking process. Printmaking provides me with an opportunity to create a monthly project focused on politics, the elections and the ultimate prize of getting more Americans to vote.
Born in Jersey, brought up in historic Concord, MA. A love of art coupled with a sometimes too practical mindset landed me at Syracuse University receiving a BA in Political Science and Art.
My adult life has been grounded in and around Boston, MA where I have created a career that merges art, design and business while also creating a life that includes my husband, two daughters, two dogs and three chickens. I have the privelage to be the Artist in Residence for the How Was Your Run Today? podcast and a past brand ambassador for Run 4 All Women.
If I’m not making, I love to move and you might find me at boxing, nia, yoga, gravoxy, running or embracing community with November Project.
